Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350. Obo is looking for a forever home where snuggling is the norm and every day is filled with the gentle reassurance that he is dearly loved. Obo is truly a Velcro dog, in the best way! He will ALWAYS step up into your lap, give one of his hugs, nuzzle your neck, or bury his head in your chest. He loves visitors and is grateful to be around people! At 45-50 lbs and about 1.5 years old, Obo is a perfect medium size and has many years ahead of him to be your buddy. He shows some interest in chewing bones and playing fetch, but his greatest obsession will undoubtedly be YOU. He has greatly enjoyed playing with his foster sister and is fascinated by her; she, in turn, helps him be brave on walks and sets a good example for life in a home! Obo is still working on some obedience skills, BUT he is so eager to please that with some patience, these will be easily improved. (Obo would like to add that he is very good at “sit”and walks politely on a leash.) The ideal home for Obo would be one in which someone is home much of the day to give him ample attention, affection, and patience as he learns. A house with older children may be best as Obo can come on a bit strong with his physical affection.Obo would do great as part of the pack or as your only pup! Also, Obo is adorable. But you knew that already! Don’t wait to submit your application for this sweetie pie. If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $350 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
