Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (long coat). Adoption Fee: 185.00. Meet Biscuit - a sweet fella who hasn't met a person, dog, or even a cat he didn't like! We believe Biscuit is about 7 to 8 months old and mixed with a few different breeds - check out those massive ears! Biscuit is extremely friendly and a has submissive personality with other pets -- he immediately backs off play when other dogs signal. He is extremely social and friendly with children and adults alike. The best home for Biscuit would be with a yard and a playful canine companion. He enjoys playing with his doggy friends and a daily walk, but after that is content to chill out the rest of the day. Biscuit sleeps all night in his crate, knows doggy door, potty trained, leash trained, rides great in the car, and is an all-around incredible dog! Could Mr. Biscuit be your new best friend? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
