Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Hank is a sweet, loyal pit mix weighing around 60 lbs. He’s a very laid-back, easygoing guy who loves walks, belly rubs, and spending time with his people. He’s especially fond of kids and truly enjoys being around people.Hank does great day to day. Occasionally, if he drinks a lot of water too quickly, he may have a little reflux, which is easily managed. He also has a mild, intermittent tracheal sensitivity that’s been evaluated by a vet. It rarely comes up, and when it did briefly flare last month, it resolved quickly with short-term medication. He’s feeling great and doing well.Hank enjoys being the center of attention and can get a little jealous when other animals are around, so he would do best as the only dog where he can soak up all the love.In addition, Hank did have an incident where he bit a smaller dog and snapped at a cat, reinforcing that he would thrive as an only pet. Hank's adoption fee is $50 and includes his neuter and first shots. To learn more about Hank, email ourpawprintheartsgmail. Please NOTE: Hank is a courtesy post and is not a PPH dog. As such, PPH cannot verify Hank's health or demeanor.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
