Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Zola is an 11-week-old Shepherd/Husky mix and a sweet little pup. At just 13 pounds now, you can almost see the "old soul" wisdom in her eyes! This little lady is practically perfect with her manners. She’s crate-trained, happily goes in on her own, doesn’t cry, and is already doing amazingly well with potty training. Zola is food-motivated, eager to please, and picks up house rules quickly, she truly tries her best to be a good girl. She does well with other dogs and with children, but doesn't have experience with cats. A proper introduction is recommended for cats. Zola has a calm, watchful side and loves one-on-one time, preferring to snuggle close or quietly follow her person around rather than be constantly on the move. She enjoys playtime with her brother but is overall a beautifully balanced puppy, playful when it’s time, mellow when it’s not. One of the most heart-melting things about Zola is her nurturing nature. She keeps a careful eye on her runt brother during meals, patiently watching to make sure he eats enough instead of stealing his food. It’s a small thing, but it says everything about who she is. If you’re looking for a puppy who’s sweet, steady, observant, and deeply affectionate, Zola is the kind of dog who will quietly choose you as her person and love you with her whole heart. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
