Dog Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) (medium coat). Daisy is a sweet senior girl who came to us as an owner surrender with her beloved father, Rocky, when their family had to move and could not take them along. These two are bonded and have spent their lives together, so they are looking for a home where they can stay together and live out their golden years side by side. Daisy enjoys companionship and comfort and would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can relax with Rocky by her side. If you are interested in meeting Daisy and Rocky, please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12p & 2p-5:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p.If you do not own your home, bring consent from the property owner to have a dog on the property. As always, if you have another dog in the home, plan to bring them for a meet before you complete the adoption. Adoption fees: 6m and younger $250, 7m-5y $200, 6y-10y $150, 11y and older $100. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
