Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Meet this gorgeous 30-lb Australian Shepherd ✨ She’s smart, striking, and full of that classic Aussie energy—and she’s looking for a home that truly understands what she needs to thrive. This sweet girl is loyal and eager to bond with her people, but like many Australian Shepherds, she needs more than just love. She’ll do best with an adopter who understands the breed: someone who can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, structure, and consistency. A home that enjoys training, outdoor activities, and engaging her sharp mind would be a perfect match. She’s not looking for just any home—she’s looking for the right one. One that will respect her intelligence, meet her needs, and commit to her for life. If you’re familiar with Aussies (or ready to learn) and want a devoted, beautiful companion by your side, she may be the one you’ve been waiting for We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogsccrcdogs with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at .ccrcdogs, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
