Our Adoption Process:Muttsinneed/adoption-process Meet Hawn Hawn is an under-10-pound bundle of puppy sweetness at just 3 months old. He came into rescue alongside his mom and sister Goldie through no fault of their own, and now he’s ready to start his next chapter. Hawn is a touch more confident than his sister and loves to explore his surroundings, but he’s still a baby learning that the world is a safe place. He approaches new experiences with curiosity and growing bravery, especially when he has gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement. Like all young puppies, Hawn will thrive in a home committed to training, structure, and plenty of playtime. He’s at the perfect age to bond deeply with his people and grow into a loyal, loving companion. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
