Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed. Meet Sassy! Sassy is a 7-year-old, 7–8 lb spayed female who came to us as an owner surrender after her owner moved away. She’s a tiny girl with a big personality and knows what she likes — and what she doesn’t. Sassy does well with other dogs but is not a good fit for a home with children. She also prefers not to be bothered while resting or under blankets, so she’s looking for a respectful, dog-savvy home that understands her boundaries. In the right environment, she can be a loving and loyal companion. Details: • Female, 7 years old • Spayed • 7–8 lbs • Good with other dogs • Prefers a home without children To apply to adopt, go to .peace4paws/adoption-application on your laptop or computer. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
