Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Sonvito is a handsome, stunning, sweet male Cane Corso about 2.5 to 3 years of age. He was originally purchased by someone who decided they wanted to breed Corsos. When the breeder moved out of state, the dogs were sadly left behind on the property. The breeder’s daughter moved in but wasn’t familiar with the breed and felt intimidated by them. Thankfully, they reached out to rescue for help. We stepped up and took the dogs off the property one and two at a time, making sure each one landed safely. And this handsome guy? He has proven to be an absolute gem. ✨ About Sonvito: Great with kids Dog friendly Easy on a leash Has never met a stranger Loves, loves, LOVES people He truly has no stranger danger — everyone is his new best friend. Sonvito is affectionate, social, and just wants to be part of a family who will love him the way he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Sonvito is your guy. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
