Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Hi Iâm Carmelo! Iâm a 2-year-old neutered male shar pei / Pitbull mix weighing 55lbs. I am an extremely sweet and snuggly little pibble boy who feels like a velvet blanket!! I am well mannered, and walk SO NICE on leash. I was attacked by some off leash dogs once during a walk with my previous dad, and am a little nervous around other dogs, especially the boy dogs. Staff introduced me to a really sweet girl dog here and we hung out for a while, but I didnât want to play. I really love going for walks with all the volunteers here still, and playing tug is my favorite thing to do! Other than murder plushies of course, but donât worry I donât eat them and am not destructive with anything else I promise!!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
