Description
Dog Breed: Smooth Fox Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Hi! My name is Guinea. I'm a really sweet, 10-12 month old, female mixed breed dog mix who weighs about 18-20 pounds, with super soft fur. The rescue things I’m possibly a Smooth Coated Fox Terrier mix, but it’s only a guess. I have longer legs and a thinner body like Fox Terriers or Border Collies. I am a good watch dog - and will bark if there is someone or something outside. I sleep well in my crate at night with no accidents and am learning to go in my crate on command. I also keep my crate clean during the day when my foster mom is at work. I love sleeping on the bed curled up with my canine sisters too. I am learning how to ring the bell on the door when I need to go outside for a bathroom break. I already know a couple commands like “sit” and “off.” and am working on “leave it.” I'm pretty good with recall so I’m coming when I'm called too, but sometimes I get distracted by a critter - after all, I am still a puppy. I love playing with my canine foster sisters including exploring the yard with them. I walk well on a leash, and really enjoy being outside. I need a dog playmate who would enjoy having a buddy; I play pretty hard, and like every good toddler, need to take a nap afterward. My favorite things are playing with all my stuffie toys, playing tug, chewing on a Pupsicle or one of my chew toys, playing fetch with a ball, and playing outside, especially with my canine sisters. I just loooove visitors too, especially kids! I love to romp and play with them in the yard! Oh, I absolutely ADORE treats too, well any kind of food really! Would you like to give me a forever home so you can give me treats and we can play and cuddle and live our best lives together and you can help me continue with my house training and manners? I hope so! I can't wait to meet you! This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, tested for parasites and other diseases, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
