Calling all cozy-home + long-walk people: Ren is ready to meet you. Ren is a 3-year-old Pug/Boxer mix who is equal parts sweet and silly. He’s still settling into life outside of breeding, so he can be shy at first—especially with loud noises, quick movements, being picked up, or unfamiliar men. But when he decides you’re safe? Game over. Ren becomes a champion snuggler and a world-class lovebug. His favorite things include: Long walks and little adventures Climbing snow hills like a tiny mountaineer Playing with his foster sibling Toys + Benebones + quality couch time He’s got “bunny mode,” and it activates the second he gets excited. Ren is great with other dogs and cats. He’s also house-trained, though he’s still figuring out how to let you know he needs to go out. Ren does have some separation anxiety, so he’s looking for a calm, consistent home that can help him feel secure. With patience, routine, and a steady human, Ren is going to bloom into the best buddy you’ve ever had. Only older, considerate kids for this handsome devil. Want an adventure partner who doubles as a snuggle pro? Ren’s your guy. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Breed overview
Overview:
The Box-a-Pug, a charming crossbreed originating from the playful Boxer and the endearing Pug, combines the best of both worlds into a delightful companion. Typically a medium-sized dog, they inherit a sturdy, muscular build from the Boxer, often paired with the Pug's distinctive flat face and expressive eyes, though the muzzle can be slightly longer than a purebred Pug's. Their coat is usually short and smooth, coming in various colors like fawn, brindle, or black. Temperamentally, Box-a-Pugs are known for being affectionate, loyal, and playful, making them excellent family pets. They adapt well to apartment living if given sufficient daily exercise, enjoying walks and interactive play. As with many brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds, they can be prone to respiratory issues and may struggle in extreme heat, requiring careful monitoring. Regular vet check-ups are also advisable for potential joint problems inherited from their parent breeds. Overall, the Box-a-Pug is a loving and engaging companion for a variety of households.
