Description
Dog Breed: Bernese Mountain Dog / Australian Shepherd / Mixed. What a beauty this boy is! His name is Mateo, and he's a Bernese Mountain Dog/Aussie mix. He's two years old and weighs 45 pounds. His coat is long and luxurious. The best part of this fella, though, is his sweetness. First of all, he's a leaner; he loves to press his body against yours. He loves to be by you. He's also playful and energetic. We think he's just terrific! (posted 2/10/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **

Breed overview
Overview:
The Australian Mountain Dog, a captivating hybrid of the Australian Shepherd and Bernese Mountain Dog, combines the best traits of its esteemed parents. Originating from designer breed efforts to create a well-rounded companion, these dogs are renowned for their striking appearance, often featuring a medium-to-long coat in various colors, a sturdy build, and an intelligent expression. Temperament-wise, they are generally described as loyal, intelligent, and affectionate, making them excellent family pets. While they possess a playful energy from their Aussie lineage, the Bernese influence often imbues them with a calm and gentle demeanor. They thrive in homes with a fenced yard and consistent exercise, making them less suitable for apartment living without significant commitment to daily walks and mental stimulation. Owners should be aware of potential health considerations common to their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and eye conditions, necessitating regular veterinary check-ups to ensure a long and healthy life.
