Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Meet Stormy!! Stormy was born approximately 8/1/2023. She is a happy ball of cuteness who was surrendered to our rescue after another dog luckily found her crying in a storm drain! She had apparently been living in there and was extremely skinny upon arrival to us, but chunked up pretty quickly with a little love and care! Stormy is now approximately 30lbs and completely house and crate trained! She loves to play with her chew toys and stuffies and walks like a seasoned pro on a leash! She loves people, and has no aggression towards them at all, but we feel she would be best as part of a "1 animal household" as she seems to be very jealous of her human friends and doesn't like to share them with other animals! Stormy is completely vetted, up to date on all vaccinations and spayed! If you are interested in meeting or adopting this cutie pie, please visit Richardsonrescue to fill out an adoption application!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
