Description
Dog Breed: Pug / Boxer / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 375.00. Meet Miss Freya! Freya is a very sweet gal who is somewhat convinced she's a lap dog. She does like rough play and can be loud when playing with other dogs. She can be protective, but is easy to warm up to when you get closer to her. Freya has done well with a slow introduction to the dogs in her foster home, however would most likely do best in a home where she is the only dog! She is good with cats, and good with kids! She is housetrained, crate trained, and good on walks! Freya does have significant allergies and requires a special diet, medication, and 1 - 2 medicated baths a week. Without proper care and management of her skin allergies, she looses hair and scratches herself until she bleeds.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Box-a-Pug, a charming crossbreed originating from the playful Boxer and the endearing Pug, combines the best of both worlds into a delightful companion. Typically a medium-sized dog, they inherit a sturdy, muscular build from the Boxer, often paired with the Pug's distinctive flat face and expressive eyes, though the muzzle can be slightly longer than a purebred Pug's. Their coat is usually short and smooth, coming in various colors like fawn, brindle, or black. Temperamentally, Box-a-Pugs are known for being affectionate, loyal, and playful, making them excellent family pets. They adapt well to apartment living if given sufficient daily exercise, enjoying walks and interactive play. As with many brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds, they can be prone to respiratory issues and may struggle in extreme heat, requiring careful monitoring. Regular vet check-ups are also advisable for potential joint problems inherited from their parent breeds. Overall, the Box-a-Pug is a loving and engaging companion for a variety of households.
