Description
Dog Breed: Shih Tzu / Maltese / Mixed. Meet the cutest little blind pooch with the biggest heart This sweet senior boy is looking for a calm, loving home where he can comfortably live out his golden years. While he may not see the world with his eyes, he sees perfectly with his heart. He absolutely LOVES being with his people — your presence is his favorite thing. Whether it’s relaxing on the couch, following you from room to room, or napping nearby while you go about your day, he just wants to be close. Because he’s blind, he does best in familiar, consistent spaces where he can easily learn his surroundings and navigate with confidence. Once he maps out his home, he moves around like a little pro! ✨ He doesn’t need much — just: • A predictable layout • A patient, loving family • A cozy spot to rest • And someone who understands that senior dogs deserve the very best In return, you’ll get the sweetest companion, quiet loyalty, and the kind of love only a senior dog can give. If you’ve ever considered opening your heart to a special little soul, this precious boy is waiting for you. Give him the soft landing he deserves. We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogsccrcdogs with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at .ccrcdogs, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support.

More About Mal-Shi BreedOverview:
The Mal-Shi, a charming designer breed, is a delightful cross between the gentle Maltese and the affectionate Shih Tzu. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of both parent breeds, the Mal-Shi is typically a small, sturdy companion dog, rarely exceeding 15 pounds. Their physical characteristics often include a soft, wavy to curly, hypoallergenic-friendly coat that sheds minimally, requiring regular grooming to prevent matting. Common coat colors range from white, cream, and black to various shades of brown and brindle. Temperament-wise, Mal-Shis are renowned for being incredibly sweet, playful, and intelligent, making them highly trainable and eager to please. They thrive on human companionship and are generally excellent with children and other pets, making them a fantastic choice for families and individuals alike. Their adaptability, coupled with their moderate exercise needs, makes them well-suited for apartment living. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include respiratory issues common to brachycephalic breeds (if the Shih Tzu parent has a very flat face), patellar luxation, and eye conditions. Regular veterinary check-ups are crucial for maintaining their well-being.
