Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees / Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 500. Avalanche is a male Pyr/Husky mix puppy born around 12/25, and he’s as joyful and spirited as his name suggests. This confident, happy guy approaches life with enthusiasm and a wagging tail, always ready for the next game, adventure, or puppy romp. Avalanche must have another playful dog in the home—he truly thrives with a canine buddy to wrestle with, learn from, and burn off some puppy energy alongside. A fully fenced yard is also required, giving him a safe space to run, explore, and enjoy outdoor playtime. Right now he’s around 38 lbs and is expected to grow into a large dog (90 lbs). He loves being active and engaged, but once he’s had his fun, he’s all about the cuddles and happily crashes for a well-earned nap. Avalanche is smart, social, and eager to learn, making him a great candidate for continued training as he grows into a well-mannered adult. He should be adopted into a home with kids over 8 and with a family home often as he needs someone there to help him grow into a confident adult. If you’re looking for a fun-loving puppy who will keep your resident dog entertained, bring laughter into your home, and still snuggle up at the end of the day, Avalanche could be your perfect match. Come meet him and see why this little snowstorm is so special! If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Breed overview
Overview:
The Pyrenees Husky, a captivating crossbreed of the Great Pyrenees and Siberian Husky, originated from a desire to blend the best traits of both parent breeds. These striking dogs typically boast a medium to large build, featuring a dense, often bi-colored coat that can range from a fluffy double coat to a more medium-length texture, with striking blue or multi-colored eyes being common. Temperamentally, they are known for being intelligent, affectionate, and generally good-natured, often exhibiting the Great Pyrenees' calm loyalty combined with the Husky's playful energy. While they can be wonderful family companions due to their gentle disposition and patience with children, their size and exercise requirements make them less suitable for cramped apartment living. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health considerations common to the parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia and certain eye conditions, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups for these magnificent dogs.
