Description
Dog Breed: Dogo Argentino (medium coat). Mai Tai is a striking Dogo Argentino with natural, uncropped ears that give him a charming, slightly Snoopy-like appearance (Snoopy with MUSCLES). He is a powerful, handsome young dog who is ready for a fresh start. He came to us without the stability every dog deserves and arrived with a wound on his back right leg that required stitches from our veterinary team. The good news: he is all healed up and feeling great. Mai Tai is friendly with people and enjoys human interaction, but he is not a fan of other dogs and will need to be the only pet in the home. As a strong, athletic breed, he will do best with a confident and experienced handler who understands the importance of training, structure, and consistency. Mai Tai is young, smart, and full of potential. In the right home, with clear guidance and leadership, he has all the makings of an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. Overview:
The Argentinian Mastiff, more commonly known as the Dogo Argentino, is a powerful and noble breed originating from Argentina in the 1920s, specifically developed for big-game hunting. These impressive dogs boast a striking appearance with their signature pure white coat, muscular build, and a strong, intelligent gaze. Temperament-wise, a well-socialized Dogo is often described as loyal, courageous, and protective of their family. While they can be affectionate and gentle with their loved ones, their protective instincts and high energy levels mean they are generally not suitable for apartment living and thrive in homes with ample space and an active lifestyle. They require consistent training and early socialization to ensure they are well-behaved around strangers and other animals. Regarding health, they are prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and skin allergies, and due to their white coat, they have a higher incidence of deafness.
