Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). **Meet Bakin’: The Gentle and Playful Pit Mix Seeking His Forever Home** Bakin’ is a charming 2.5-year-old pit mix known for his striking white and brindle coat. This lovable pup is on the lookout for a forever home where he can share his affection and playful spirit. Bakin’ is a social pup who gets along well with female dogs but has spats with other males, so prefers just the ladies! He is generally good with cats, though initially a bit skeptical, and he does well with younger children—making him a potential fit for families. Surrendered due to domestic violence circumstances, Bakin’ has adjusted well and is resilient in the face of life changes. This big-hearted dog loves being a lap dog, enjoying ear scratches and belly rubs. He’s also a fan of fetch, even if he occasionally forgets to bring the toy back. Bakin’ is both potty trained and housebroken, knows his basic commands, and is a huge fan of peanut butter! Bakin’ would thrive in a home where he can be showered with love and attention. A family with children or a home where he receives ample playtime and affection would be perfect. His playful and affectionate nature ensures that he will be a delightful addition to any family. If you’re ready to offer Bakin’ the loving home he deserves, he promises to fill your days with joy, companionship, and endless affection. Open your home to Bakin’ and discover the joys of having this wonderful boy as a part of your family! If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
