Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). 02/26/26 16:14 CA School's back in session, and Zoey is showing us all what it means to live, love and wag our tails! This pit bull/lab mix, who's in her senior year of high school, may have a few gray hairs, but she is still the coolest dog on campus: sweet, smart, and adorable. Zoey is currently in a foster home, and her family says she's a super calm dog, sweet and gentle that never wants to leave your side. She rarely barks, only when wants to play, and she LOVES going for walks. She may be a senior, but she still has tons of energy and can easily keep up. She knows the basic commands: sit, stay, down, and come. She is very well-behaved. She only chews on toys she is given, nothing else that's in the house or that she shouldn't. She sleeps beautifully through the night and spends most days sunbathing and napping. She's such a calm dog! If you are looking for a velcro pup to fill your days with love and joy, Zoey is yout girl.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
