This tiny pup was surrendered locally and is now safe with us, waiting for a loving home where she can truly thrive. Maxie has a sweet, gentle nature and a playful spirit that comes out more each day as she settles into new surroundings. Like many small dogs, she feels happiest when she’s close to her people — whether that’s cuddling on the couch, following you around the house, or simply enjoying a calm, secure environment. At her young age, Maxie is still learning about the world and will benefit from patience, consistency, and a home that understands the needs of small companion dogs. With kindness and stability, she will grow into a deeply loyal, affectionate companion who brings joy and warmth to her family. Maxie Fox is looking for a foster or forever home where she will be cherished, protected, and included as part of the family. She has so much love to give and is ready to begin her next chapter. Adoption Details Adoption fee: $1,095 This is a non-refundable donation that helps support ongoing rescue efforts and allows us to continue saving dogs in need. Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
