Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Currently located at our Evansville, IN location Squishy Female | Pit Mix | Tan with White Markings Squishy is as soft and lovable as her name suggests. This beautiful girl, with one stunning blue eye and one brown eye, will absolutely melt your heart. She loves toys, chewing on bones, and is very treat motivated. If you’re looking for a laid-back companion who enjoys cuddling more than anything, Squishy is your gal. She adores piling up on pillows and blankets and simply being wherever her person is. Squishy gets along wonderfully with the adult dog and cat in her foster home. She keeps a clean kennel and is leash trained. After being hit by a car, she bravely underwent hip replacement surgery and is still gaining strength as she learns to confidently walk on all four legs again. Through it all, she has remained incredibly sweet and resilient. Squishy is fearful of men and will hide and bark when unsure, so she would do best in a home without men or with someone patient and committed to helping her work through her fear with understanding and positive reinforcement. If you’re ready to give this special girl the safe, loving home she deserves, apply at itvrescue All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
