Housebroken? She’s working on her potty training and making great progress! Story: Ethel comes to us from a shelter in West Virginia. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Ethel is a sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Ethel is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Ethel will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Ethel was very nervous when she first came to us, and has come out of her shell a TON. She does great in our home. Very laid back and loving, a huge cuddle bug. She is not fully potty trained, but is making great progress and only goes on the potty pad or outside. She sleeps through the night with us beautiful without getting up or roaming. She is not crate trained, but will go in and out not problem, and even lay down inside with the door open to chew a bone. She doesn’t chew anything she shouldn’t. She is chill with occasional playful moments. She loves to chase our other dog around the house top speed once a day in the evening after work. She grazes at her food which makes everything so much easier and she knows sit! She walks great on the leash and has gained a TON of confidence on the leash. She has a cute little prance she does down the hall every time we are going out. She is perfect with our two dogs- couldn’t ask for better. She is still shy around new people she doesn’t know unless she has our 2 dogs with her. She will take some time to warm up to new people when she meets them, but once she knows you, she is absolute gem of a dog. The fee to adopt Ethel is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines.
