Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Sky blue eyes and a speckled nose are not only intriguing but also the first signs of a friendship. Add in a bubbly personality and you have none other than Trixie2. She has found her place in rescue to find her forever home. Trixie2 is a 2.5-year-old pit bull terrier with charm to spare. She weighs around 60 pounds and is a bit overweight and would benefit from to dropping a few pounds. She leads with a shining personality and a greeter to everyone. There is no stranger in her world. She is great with other dogs, children over 5 years of age and adults. She has not been introduced to cats since coming into rescue. She is a happy gal that enjoys interaction with other individuals as well as time playing with her toys. She will not refuse a belly rub or time hanging out with her people because she relishes those opportunities. Trixie2 is learning the ropes and going for the gold in learning her house, crate and leash training. She is enthusiastic and willing to do what is expected of her. She is treat motivated so that should be of help with getting her interest in learning basic commands and/or her skill set. She has come a long way to find the home where she can rest her head. Trixie2 is all about love and devotion and is ready to share all of her attributes with her forever family. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Trixie2 is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
