Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed. Looking for a perfect blend of chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier, then you have come to the right place. You have to meet Winnie, a two-year old, weighing 18 pounds. She has a short tan and white coat. But it is the straight up ears and the perfectly symmetrical markings on her face that capture your attention. Jack Russell/Chihuahua dogs take on elements of both parent breed personalities. They are high-energy and active thanks to their Jack Russell terrier lineage. This means they are always up for playtime and require a lot of mental stimulation to avoid boredom. These traits are combined with loyalty and attention-loving Chihuahua qualities. When put together, the outcome is a feisty and lively dog that has plenty of love to give. It is not known if Winnie has ever met a cat. She gets along with the dogs and children. Establishing a routine Winnie has mastered her house and crate training. She is currently working on her leash training. Daily exercise will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. She will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. It will prevent boredom. A secure back yard (so she cannot dig her way out) will give her free time to play and burn off extra energy. Chihuahuas are known to be playful active dogs. Winnie marks off all the boxes when it comes to being a great canine companion. Will she be your next family member. * Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Winnie is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.

More About Jack Chi BreedOverview:
The Jack Chi is a delightful designer breed, a cross between the spirited Chihuahua and the energetic Jack Russell Terrier. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of both parents, this hybrid typically inherits a compact size, weighing between 8-18 pounds and standing 10-15 inches tall. Their physical appearance varies, often featuring a short, smooth coat in colors like black, white, tan, or a combination, with alert, intelligent eyes. Temperamentally, Jack Chis are known for being playful, intelligent, and loyal companions. They possess the Chihuahua's affectionate nature and the Jack Russell's zest for life, making them engaging pets. While adaptable to apartment living due to their smaller stature, they require regular exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. They can be good with families who understand their need for consistent training and socialization, especially with younger children. Notable health considerations for the Jack Chi include potential predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, dental issues, and heart problems, highlighting the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
