Meet Scar – The Kind of Love That Leaves a Mark Hi there, I'm Scar- a 1-year-old Lab/Pit mix with a big smile, a bigger heart, and a story that's still being written. I may have gotten my name from a little adventure gone wrong, but don't let that fool you—I'm all about love, connection, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone I meet. I came to the shelter after my curiosity led me on a little field trip to visit the neighboring farm animals (they looked friendly, I promise). Since then, I've been ready to turn that adventurous spirit into something even better-a life filled with love, companionship, and a family to call my own. These days, I'm confident, social, and full of affection. I don't just meet people- I connect with them. I'm the kind of dog who will leave paw prints on your heart and a smile you didn't know you needed. I've lived with my sibling Draco my whole life, so I'm used to having a canine companion and would love a friend to share life with. I do best with female dogs and when it comes to males, I prefer, respectful ones that are equal in size and stature. I am not a match for homes with small dogs. A meet and greet is always the best way to make sure everyone is a good fit prior to adoption if you already have dogs in your home. According to my previous family, I've also done well with cats and children, making me a wonderful fit for a fun, active home that's ready for a young dog with a whole lot of love to give. I've been waiting 149 days as of 04/10/26, and while that's earned me Diamond Dog status with a reduced adoption fee of $75, what I really want is something money can't buy-a family who will choose me and never let me go. I'm neutered, microchipped, up to date on all my core vaccinations including rabies, and heartworm negative- ready to walk out the door and into your life. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
