Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Meet Wally! Wally is a 4-year-old pit mix with a HUGE heart. He came to us needing a little extra TLC and handled everything with incredible gentleness and patience—showing us right away what a sweet, resilient boy he is. This playful guy knows how to have fun! Wally loves a good game of soccer, shows off some surprisingly cute yoga moves, and seems to think snow days are the best days. He’s great in the car, walks nicely on leash, and is always ready to join you for your next adventure. Wally has done well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. His play style can be a bit physical, so he’d do best with a dog of similar size and energy who enjoys the same kind of play. He cannot live with cats. With his loving temperament and joyful spirit, Wally is ready to live his very best life. Whether it’s outdoor adventures or cozy snuggle time, he’s all in—and can’t wait to find a home to call his own. Current Weight: 72lbs Adoption Fee $250 To Apply: .fcrspca/adopt

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
