Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Peperoncini Peperoncini, affectionately called Pepper by his foster family, is an adorable 10-month-old pup with a sweet, affectionate personality and a heart full of love. He is neutered, crate trained, and doing amazing with potty training, rarely having accidents. Pepper gets along wonderfully with kids and other dogs and has been an easy, happy addition to his foster family’s daily routine. He’s currently working on leash manners and basic training and is eager to learn, especially when treats, praise, or toys are involved — all of his favorite things! This easygoing boy loves attention, pets, and being included in family life. He would thrive in a home with kids, a canine playmate, or an active family who will make him part of their everyday adventures. Pepper came from a sad and abusive situation, but it hasn’t dimmed his joyful spirit one bit. He is now safe, thriving in foster care, and ready for a forever home where he can receive the love, stability, and affection he truly deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will happily be your shadow and best friend, Pepper may be the perfect match for you. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
