Description
Dog Breed: Rottweiler / Doberman Pinscher / Mixed. Lady is a gentle, sensitive soul who is looking for a calm and patient home where she can truly blossom. She can be skittish at first — especially around men — and may bark when she feels unsure. Because of this, she’ll need extra time and understanding in a home where men are present. With consistency and kindness, she does begin to relax and build trust. Once Lady feels safe, her sweet personality shines. She is incredibly loving, enjoys being held, and happily melts into cuddles and pets. She forms strong bonds with her people and will be a deeply loyal companion. Lady is very food motivated, which is helpful for building confidence and continuing her training. She’s still gaining courage when it comes to walks and currently prefers the safety of home and yard time. She has started playing in the yard and is making small but meaningful progress every day. She will even go into her crate on her own with the door open to rest, showing she’s learning to feel secure in her space. Lady will thrive in a quiet home with consistent, patient people who can help her continue building confidence at her own pace. In return, she will offer unwavering love, loyalty, and the sweetest cuddles. Lady was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. She was at risk of euthanasia with her puppies due to overcrowding, but was able to be rescued in time. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. Breed overview
Overview:
The Rotterman is a robust and intelligent hybrid, a striking blend of the powerful Rottweiler and the sleek Doberman Pinscher. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the best traits of both parents, these dogs typically inherit a strong, muscular build with a dense, short coat, often in black and tan markings. They are known for their alert and confident temperament, making them excellent guard dogs and loyal companions. With proper socialization and consistent training, Rottermans can be wonderful family pets, though their energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them less suitable for small apartments. Potential owners should be aware of a predisposition to health issues common to both parent breeds, including hip and elbow dysplasia, certain heart conditions, and bloat. An experienced owner who can provide ample exercise and training will find a devoted and capable partner in the Rotterman.
