Description
Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Hey, you’re looking sharp…Meet Cheddar! This 5-year old mild-mannered micro bully came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray and is the most notable item on the charcuterie board. Cheddar is aged to perfection, and chock full of ooey gooey goodness! He is, well, hilarious (uh, look at him!), and this might sound cheesy, but we think he’s really grate!!! With his beefy upper body strength and giant cheese head, it is obvious he skipped leg day. His appearance is cartoonish in nature with the strangest little densely packed body…he is big and little all at the same time. His red brindle velvety coat is naturally so, so soft and creamy and he has cheesy personality to boot! This little guy is AWESOME – tangy and savory at the same time and, oh, how he craves attention. He is uber housetrained and loves, loves, loves to be close! In fact, Cheddar is looking to bond hard with his humans and will melt into you for a great snuggle sesh time and time again. He has a sharp wit about him and is a funny little guy, doing headstands and insisting on being part of the action. Cheddar is just a great dog who deserves a happy ending all his own and will set your mind at cheese with what a fantastic companion he is. Cheddar just needs a wine or bread pairing to complete him and can’t wait to start his forever. Because of a lack of history, older or no kids would be best for this big cheeseball. Cheddar’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family who wants a Velcro dog looking to bond HARD! 2. A family who loves to share space and be close always (on the couch, in bed, etc.) 3. A family who is looking to commit FOREVER! Cheddar has been bounced around, and it is important that his next stop is his last stop.

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
