Description
Dog Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Please call the shelter directly if you are interested in this companion animal. The Email address is not monitored daily. 949-492-1617. I LOVE TO: Go for long walks, and run around and play in the yard. I HAVE: A great smile and a loving personality. I also have a confident and active disposition. I GET ALONG WELL WITH: Adults and older children. I WOULD RATHER NOT: Be left outside unattended, because of my small stature. I'm a puppy, I would rather not be left along for long periods of time. I NEED: Puppy obedience training. I need daily exercise and/or walks that will accommodate my energy level. I am looking for a loving family to call my own! MORE INFO: This bright-eyed little comet is all wiggles, zoomies, and curiosity. He's a classic puppy: energetic, learning the ropes, and very much convinced the world is one big playground. Jiminy will thrive with guidance, consistency, and someone ready to laugh, train, repeat, and fall in love.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
