Description
Dog Breed: Shih Tzu / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed. Jaymes is a 4/5-year-old Poodle/Shih Tzu mix weighing about 11 pounds with a heart as big as his smile. He was cruelly dumped in the middle of nowhere, but thanks to rescue, he’s now safe, fully vetted, and ready to find the loving forever home he deserves. When Jaymes was found, he was found to have an underdeveloped eye with no vision. The vet thought it best to clean the area up and sew the opening. He looks adorable and is doing great! Jaymes is very sweet and friendly, loves people, and does great with other dogs. He’s the kind of little guy who fits easily into family life—happy to cuddle, happy to play, and happy just to be loved. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines. Adoption fee: $550 If you’re looking for a small, affectionate companion with a resilient spirit and a joyful personality, Jaymes is ready to meet you.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Shih-Poo is a charming designer breed, a delightful cross between the gentle Shih Tzu and the intelligent Miniature Poodle, typically originating from breeders seeking to combine the best traits of both. These small companion dogs usually boast a soft, wavy to curly coat that is often low-shedding, making them a popular choice for individuals with allergies. Physically, they exhibit a compact build, expressive eyes, and come in a variety of colors. In terms of temperament, Shih-Poos are generally affectionate, playful, and highly adaptable, making them excellent family pets and well-suited for apartment living due to their moderate exercise needs. They thrive on human companionship and can be quite trainable with positive reinforcement. While generally robust, potential health considerations include issues common to their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, eye conditions, and dental problems, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
