Description
Dog Breed: Corgi / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $350. Meet Magnolia Moon (“Maggie”) Maggie is a sweet, playful 2-year-old Corgi x Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. Her favorite things? Being by your side, soaking up belly rubs, and sneaking in as many snuggles as possible. She’s full of happy energy and would make an amazing walking, hiking, or playtime buddy. Maggie is learning how to enjoy toys and would love a home where she can keep discovering just how fun life can be. She’s great on a leash, goes potty outside like a champ, and gets along wonderfully with cats and dogs. Gentle kiddos are especially her favorite! Every day, Maggie is growing more confident and curious about the world around her. She’s ready to be someone’s very best friend — and whoever adopts her will be one lucky human. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
