Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Hi I'm Rockford, but my friends call me Rocky, and everybody is my friend so you can call me Rocky too. I am a very cute 4 month old shepherd mix. I'm a social guy that really thinks everyone (people, dog, and cat) are my friends. Right now I'm only about 28 lbs, but will probably be around 75 lbs or so when I'm full grown. I'm doing so good with my house and crate training, but I'm so just a puppy so I will need some patience and continued support to be perfect. I am very smart and love to learn new things. I already know how to sit, lay down, and pay attention to you. Will you come be my new best friend? Apply to meet me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
