Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $250.00. Meet Randee (Yes, That Randee) Hi. I’m Randee. I’m 3 years old, a male Chihuahua mix, and currently rocking 10 pounds of personality. Full disclosure I should be around 7 pounds… but I say I’m just “emotionally prepared for winter.” We’re working on it. What you should really know? I am a people dog. Like… capital P. If you sit down, I’m in your lap. If you move rooms, I’m your tiny supervisor. If you go to the bathroom alone… bold of you to assume that’s allowed. The good stuff: • Great with dogs of all sizes • Cat approved • Best with kids 12+ (I prefer my humans slightly more predictable) • House trained AND dog-door trained • I do okay in my crate… but I’d rather be with you, obviously. I’m affectionate, social, and fully committed to being your shadow. I don’t need much — just a comfy spot near you and maybe a few less snacks (rude but fair). If you’re looking for a loyal little sidekick with a touch of sass and a whole lot of love, I’m your guy. Apply to adopt me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication I’ll be waiting. Probably staring at you.

Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
