Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie. Rosie is a little lady with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. She’s a sweetheart and lives for cozy snuggle time. Bonus feature: she has the cutest little snore that somehow makes naps even more adorable. Rosie loves her walks and keeps a surprisingly brisk pace for such a tiny girl. She enjoys making friends around the neighborhood and is wonderfully curious about meeting new humans too. Social butterfly energy in a pint-sized package. She has a gentle, loving personality and just wants to be close to her person (or people). Because she bonds deeply, Rosie isn’t a fan of being left alone for long periods. She would thrive in a home with a person or family who’s home often, and/or a friendly dog companion to keep her company. If you’re looking for a devoted little shadow with endless affection and charm, Rosie is ready to fill your home with warmth, snuggles, and tiny happy snores. *Please Note: Our adoption event on May 2nd will start at 1pm* Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
