Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Meet Ivy, a 10 week old Heeler mix who is 8 pounds of frolicking fun. If you are looking for a high energy pup who can grow with your family, Ivy is your girl. Ivy has been around cats and other dogs (although she can sometimes be a bit over enthusiastic). Ivy loves people and would do well with older children. She is highly intelligent and learns quickly. She knows how to sit, go to her kennel, and is already working hard on her leash manners and potty training. She loves puzzles and training games. Ivy would thrive in a home that loves the outdoors as much as she does—whether it’s hiking trails, playing fetch in the backyard, or agility training, she’s ready to be your right-hand girl. If you have the time to keep her mind busy and her heart full, she’ll reward you with a lifetime of loyalty. Ivy is looking for a family who will continue her training and give her plenty of puzzles to solve. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Fees include 1 year complete puppy vaccines, deworm, microchip and spay. Her adoption fee is $300. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
