Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Tanner! He was found in Healdsburg abandoned in a crate. This rough start to life has left him a little hesitant of the world. Despite this, he is learning and growing every day in foster care. He gets along very well with other dogs & would prefer a canine companion in his future home. He is currently in a foster home with cats & another dog and gets along well with them. He loves toys, any type of treat, zoomies, and taking long naps! He is a sweet boy that seeks affection from both of his foster parents. Tanner will need someone that is patient while he's still learning & a more expierenced home.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
