Description

Dog Breed: Rat Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs! Updated: 3/29/2026 Dog Name: Dottie Sex: Female Estimated Breed: Rat Terrier/Chihuahua/Aussie Mix Approximate Age: 9 months Approximate Weight: 13 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Spayed Description: Dottie and her sweet siblings were desperately in need of a hero as their home was becoming overwhelming with so many animals. They risked creating more unwanted litters and our Texas rescue partners stepped in to save 10 pups between two litters! Dottie is the perfect mix of playful energy and sweet affection! She absolutely LOVES playing fetch and will happily entertain herself by running around the house and finding toys to chew on (don’t worry, she hasn’t chewed on anything she shouldn’t!). She’s a happy, busy pup who brings joy wherever she goes. This sweet girl is full of energy, but she also listens well. Dottie takes corrections beautifully and will stop what she’s doing right away. She walks nicely on a leash without pulling! She’s doing great with a routine for potty training and is already showing how smart and eager to learn she is! Dottie can be a little unsure with new people and situations at first, but she warms up rather quickly once she realizes she’s safe. Once she gets to know you her loving, playful personality truly shines! She does well with kids, though she may need a little time to adjust to their energy, just like she does with anyone new. She would love to soak up all the attention in the home, but she does well with dogs of all sizes and even cats! As a puppy, she’s still exploring the world with her mouth, but she’s learning every day and making great progress! Dottie is truly pure happiness in a little package and is ready to bring endless love, fun, and cuddles to her forever home! Could that be with you? Adoption Fee: $450 We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433 ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.
