Description
Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Hound / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $380.00. Jackson is a Black Labrador/Hound mix pup that came from Alabama with no mother and 3 siblings. His sibling have been adopted and he is wondering when he will find that family to love and be a part of. Jackson is an outgoing pup with the sweetest personality. He is good with his Foster's grandchildren who are 10 & 12. He plays on his own and with other dogs with no issues. He has been out walking, to parks and Tractor Supply where he has met people and dogs he does not know and he has had no issues. He is trained on leash with a harness, crate where he sleeps through the night and potty trained with no current accidents. He will be around 65lbs full grown and would love to be your companion on walks and adventures. He is up to date on vaccines and preventatives having been given 3 DAPP's, Rabies and Revolution topically. Jackson is being fostered in Newport, PA. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
