Description
Dog Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier. Harper is the new girl on the block (or should we say… at EASEL!) and she is officially ready for adoption! This sweet girl recently came to us as a stray and, sadly, was never reclaimed. Now fully vetted and ready for her fresh start, Harper is looking toward the future with a wagging tail, a happy heart, and (for today at least!) her tongue out in full celebration. Estimated to be about 2 years old, Harper is as sweet as can be. She’s been wonderful in the car, knows some basic commands, and is currently polishing up her leash skills. She’s met everyone with a happy, easygoing attitude and has truly been a joy to have around. Simply put — she’s a happy-go-lucky girl who’s ready to find her forever people. If you’re interested in giving Harper the loving home she deserves, please apply online at: .easelnj/application-dog/ Or visit us during open hours at: 4 Jake Garzio Drive Ewing, NJ Come meet Harper — your new best friend might just be waiting. Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Please go to .easelnj/adopt to submit an adoption application. Someone will be in touch within 48 hours.

Overview:
The American Staffordshire Terrier, often affectionately called an "AmStaff," is a breed with a fascinating history, originating in 19th-century England and later refined in the United States. Physically, they are medium-sized, muscular, and agile dogs, known for their powerful build and distinctive wide smile. Their short, stiff coat comes in a variety of colors and patterns. In terms of temperament, AmStaffs are generally intelligent, confident, and highly loyal to their families. They possess a strong desire to please and can be quite affectionate. While they can make excellent family companions and often get along well with children, early socialization and consistent training are crucial due to their strength and inherent protective instincts. They are adaptable and can thrive in various living situations, including apartments, as long as they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. Health-wise, they are generally robust, but some individuals may be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions.
