Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd. Hi, I'm TJ, a sweet 10-month-old pup full of personality and potential! Playful, curious, and full of energy, I love to zoom around, explore, and learn. I am eager to please and will do anything for a snack! I already know sit and down - who knows what else I'm capable of! I may sometimes bark when I see other dogs, as I can be a little uncertain at times, but that's just because I'm eager to connect and grow. With consistent support and positive experiences, I'm sure to gain confidence and thrive. If you're looking for a loving companion with a gentle heart and a playful spirit, I could be the perfect addition to your family! Good news, I qualify for Foster to Adopt! Please speak to a SPCA staff member for more information. I am eligible for a Doggy Day Out, apply at .spcamc/day-out to take me on an outing!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
