Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Say hello to Trent, a 7-month-old Hound mix with a big personality to match his 54 pounds of growing boy charm! This handsome pup is all legs, floppy ears, and happy tail wags! Trent is still very much a puppy at heart—curious about the world, excited to explore every new smell, and always ready for his next adventure. With his Hound nose leading the way, he’d love a family who enjoys walks, playtime in the yard, and maybe even a hiking buddy in the making. Despite his size, Trent is a total sweetheart. He’s affectionate, eager to please, and happiest when he’s soaking up attention from his favorite humans. At 7 months old, he’s at the perfect age to continue learning and growing into the loyal, loving companion he’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a playful, goofy, big-hearted best friend who will keep you smiling and fill your home with love (and maybe a little happy chaos), Trent is your guy.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
