Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Meet Elizabeth, a 7-month-old Hound mix with long legs, soft ears, and a heart full of sunshine! At 37 pounds, she’s the perfect medium-sized sweetheart—big enough for outdoor adventures, small enough to curl up right beside you on the couch. Elizabeth is all puppy charm and happy wiggles. She loves sniffing out new scents on walks (those Hound instincts at work!), playing with her favorite toys, and making new friends wherever she goes. She’s still young, eager to learn, and ready to blossom in a loving home that will guide her with patience and kindness. Whether it’s exploring the backyard, going on weekend hikes, or enjoying cozy movie nights, Elizabeth is just happy to be by your side. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a playful spark and a snuggly side, Elizabeth is ready to fill your life with tail wags and unconditional love.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
