Description

Dog Breed: Husky (medium coat). Vans is a 1.5-year-old Husky who just strutted into the shelter and instantly stole the spotlight! With her striking light blue eyes and gorgeous looks, she’s impossible to miss—but her personality is what really makes her shine. True to typical husky fashion, Vans is fun, energetic, and full of life. She’s playful, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. On top of all that sass and spirit, she’s also super sweet and loves people. She’s the kind of dog who will keep you laughing, moving, and feeling loved every single day. Vans would thrive in a home that understands huskies—plenty of exercise, mental enrichment, and a sense of humor required! If you’re looking for a beautiful, fun-loving companion with endless charm (and those unforgettable blue eyes), Vans is ready to meet you! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes: - initial canine distemper combination vaccination - first worming or stool check - rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age) - 24 Petwatch microchipping - flea treatment/preventative - spaying or neutering -heartworm testing Adoption fee: $135.00 Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2025 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $9.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$7.20) Leash and collar included

Siberian Husky

A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:

The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
