Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Iâm not the kind of dog who runs up to strangers right away. When I meet someone new, I like to hang back a little, watch, and make sure everything feels safe. I might sniff the air, tilt my head, and keep a polite distance at first. Once I know you are? Thatâs when the real me comes out. Iâll be honest, though... I can get a little hyper sometimes. When Iâm excited, my whole body wiggles and I might forget that not everyone wants a full-speed zoomie celebration. I have a lot of enthusiasm and not always the best idea of where to put it. With some consistent training and guidance, I know I could learn to channel all that energy into being the very best boy I can be. Underneath my shy beginnings and bouncy moments, Iâm a very sweet boy. I love gentle pets, cozy spots beside you on the couch, and quiet moments where I can rest my head on your knee. Once I trust you, Iâll follow you from room to room just to be close. My tail wags a little faster, my eyes get softer, and Iâll lean into your hand like Iâve been yours forever. I may take my time, and I may get a little wiggly with excitement, but my heart is big. And when I give it, I give it completely. I have so much love to give... I just need a little patience, a few treats, and someone willing to help me learn.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
