Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). This absolutely GORGEOUS girl is a ball of silly energy. She's young and energetic and just overall lovely. She really enjoyed making friends and getting scratches and tumbling all over while trying to get in my lap. She kept trying to talk me into taking her for a stroll but it wasn't in the cards at the time. I think she'd be a great walking partner- if a bit enthusiastic. She has all the makings of being a forever bestie for someone. Her friendly nature, playful energy, tractor beam eyes and perfect medium size makes her one of the best out there. Historically, black dogs have a harder time getting adopted because people have a hard time getting a good look at them- but I think it's quite easy to see that Miss Molly is an absolute stunner. If you're interested in having a good looking, playful, energetic, silly and sweet bestie for life- head into #burbankanimalshelterand spend some time with Molly

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
