Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Are you ready to add a little dynamo to your life? Then look no further than Zeus, the pint-sized powerhouse whoâs bursting with energy and charm! Zeus can sometimes start out a little shy with new people, and will do best with an adopter who can read his signals for when heâs worried or uncomfortable. Once heâs feeling safe and secure, though, Zeus is a playful ball of affection and cuddles thatâs ready to light up the room! Adopters should be ready to help him continue working on his manners, like meeting new people without jumping, using positive reinforcement training (good news is, heâs a foodie who loves to train!). He has lived with a young child in the past and may be able to do so again, especially in a home where children can understand his enthusiasm and are comfortable around a sometimes jumpy dog. Zeus has some great experience under his belt alreadyâheâs crate trained and did well living with a cat in his previous home. At the shelter, heâs met a few dogs and enjoyed going on walks with his dog friends, and he may be able to live with another dog after a thoughtful introduction. Zeus could also live with a dog-savvy cat who is comfortable around an energetic dog. Zeus is ready to bring a whirlwind of fun and a splash of chaos into your life, so stop by the shelter today to inquire about him if you are interested in this squishy pocket pittie.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
