As you guessed-my name is Penny and I have, unfortunately, been pretty down on my luck lately. But I think you may be just the person who is going to help me turn my luck around! Let’s start with the basics. I love my people. I prefer to be in their presence at all times so I can keep tabs on what they’re doing. This allows me to find opportune moments to cuddle with them. I love to look at my humans with my big brown eyes so they can see how much I love them. Because of my energy and that I can sometimes be a little mouthy, I’m recommending kids over 12 years old only. Sometimes men, especially if wearing a hat or a hoodie, make me a little nervous but I am continuing to work on it so I can be the bestest dog around town. I’m a youngun’, and that means I have ENERGY. I would love a yard to run after squirrels and stretch these long, fast legs. And lizards don’t have a chance when I am on the prowl. I can pounce on those little guys like a cat on a mouse. I don’t think apartment living would suit me very well. And I don’t think senior dogs would enjoy my company much. I do like being around other dogs, but not the teensy tiny teacup kind. And with my high prey drive, cats do not make good housemates for me. I am very smart and enjoy brain activity-type games. But also, my tug-o-war skills are unmatched. And I love water. When my humans take me to the dog park I’m one of the few pups that love the large buckets of water. My foster fam has spent a ton of time teaching me things – I love to learn because it usually means TREATS! And I adore treats! I am housetrained and appreciate being kept to a regular potty schedule. And my leash training is a work in progress. I will initially sit to have the leash put on but then I get really excited. A strong handler who won’t let me bulldoze my way around would be ideal. So there you have it, folks. It’s my good, my bad and everything in between. And maybe I don’t need luck at all. Maybe a rabbit’s foot or a four-leaf clover aren’t the answer at all. Maybe YOU are my answer!
