Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Birthdate: 09/29/2025 Breed: One of a kind Weight: 24 lbs Meet Spirit, an adorable golden pup with a heart as radiant as her shimmering coat. Spirit is a little ray of sunshine wrapped in soft golden fur. With her constantly wagging tail, curious nose, and warm, soulful eyes, she has a special way of brightening every room she enters. Whether she’s playfully bounding through the grass, chasing leaves in the breeze, or curling up for cozy cuddles, Spirit truly lives up to her name—full of life, love, and joyful energy. Sweet yet spunky, gentle yet brave, Spirit is the perfect blend of adventurous explorer and loyal companion. She adores squeaky toys, belly rubs, tasty treats, and making new friends wherever she goes. Wherever Spirit is, happiness follows. A note from Spirit's foster: Spirit is an adorably affectionate pup with a coat as soft as silk. She endlessly shows her love and appreciation for her people with a continuously wiggling rear end and a gaze that will melt your heart. Spirit loves fetch and thanks to her petite frame a small section of apartment gave her plenty of runway to excitedly hop and wiggle her way back and forth. When play time was over Spirit rested peacefully close by her people. When bedtime came around she did perfectly in her crate overnight, sleeping soundly with no accidents or barking. Spirit does quite well on walks with very very little pulling and frequent check ins with her walker. The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
